As part of its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, Dr. Akbar Naizi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) partnered
with the Islamabad Founder Lions Club to host a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar at the Rawalpindi
Arts Council. The event successfully empowered over 350 female students along with women from
various walks of life by focusing on the power of early detection for saving precious human lives.
The seminar was graced by Chief Guest Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA, alongside distinguished Guests of
Honor including Yasir Akbar Niazi, Group CEO of GAK HealthCare International and ANTH; Shazia Rizwan,
Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab; Dr. Muhammad Arif Masood, District
Governor Lions Clubs International; Muhammad Naveed Malik, Former President Islamabad Founder
Lions Club; Malik Najeeb, President Islamabad Founder Lions Club; and Muhammad Faheem Khan, Zone
Chairman Lions Clubs International.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Munazzah Aziz (Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology, ANTH), delivered a
comprehensive lecture on the causes, symptoms, risk factors, and treatment of breast cancer. She
emphasized that early detection significantly improves survival rates and urged all women to practice
regular self-examinations.
Yasir Niazi emphasized the transformative power of community-driven awareness, underscoring that
early detection is not just about saving lives, it is about building a healthier, more resilient nation. He
highlighted that empowering the youth to become healthcare ambassadors is central to the hospital’s
vision of promoting disease prevention and nurturing a culture of proactive health consciousness.
Addressing the audience, the Chief Guest Tahira Aurangzeb lauded the initiative and appreciated the
efforts of the organizers for reaching out to young women and spreading life-saving information in an
accessible way.
In his vote of thanks, Muhammad Naveed Malik expressed his gratitude to ANTH, the Chief Guest, and
all Guests of Honor for their active participation and contributions toward the success of the seminar.
