In a significant step towards improving healthcare access for journalists, Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and the Kashmir Journalists Forum (KJF) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide comprehensive medical services at discounted rates to KJF members and their dependents.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Areej Neyazi, Director of ANTH, and Khawar Nawaz Raja, President of KJF. The signing ceremony was attended by KJF’s General Secretary Aqeel Anjum, Secretary Information Iqbal Awan, Joint Secretary Abid Hashmi, focal person Amir Hashmi, and other notable members of the forum.
Under this agreement, ANTH will offer discounts on a wide range of healthcare services, including consultations, inpatient department (IPD) care, operating theatre (OT) procedures & complex surgeries, outpatient department (OPD) services, emergency care, laboratory tests, radiology, blood bank services, and several other available facilities.

Additionally, both organizations have committed to collaborating on disease awareness initiatives. This will involve organizing seminars, lectures, and medical camps aimed at educating the journalist community and the general public about the prevention of fatal diseases. KJF will help in advocacy through media.
During the event, KJF’s president, general secretary, and other officials were given an extensive tour of ANTH. They observed the high-quality services being provided to the public using the latest technology and equipment. The officials commended the hospital’s efforts in elevating the standards of healthcare delivery and expressed their gratitude for the special discounts extended to KJF members.
Dr. Areej Neyazi emphasized the hospital’s commitment to supporting various communities. “ANTH’s doors are always open for entities like KJF, and we are committed to ongoing cooperation in organizing disease awareness activities and medical camps for the journalists’ community as well as for the general public,” said Dr. Neyazi.

Imran Ali Ghouri, a key figure in the initiative, highlighted the importance of media’s role in raising awareness through for the betterment of society. He stated, “KJF’s efforts, in collaboration with ANTH, to spread awareness about health issues are going to be invaluable. This partnership will undoubtedly contribute to the betterment of our community by reducing the burden of disease in Pakistan.”
Both ANTH and KJF have resolved to continue working together for the benefit of their community, aiming to make a meaningful impact on public health and disease prevention.
