Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan and Pakistan Pharmacist Association organized a symposium in collaboration with Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital on the theme of “Ensuring Patient Safety through Pharmacovigilance.” The inauguration of the hospital’s Pharmacovigilance Center also took place at the event.

The fundamental objective of the symposium was to enhance the protocol for drug monitoring to ensure the protection of patients nationwide. Key participants included the CEO of DRAP, Asim Rauf, President of PPA, Sardar Shabbir Ahmed, and the Chief Executive Officer of ANTH, Yasir Khan Niazi.

Future initiatives include international collaboration with WHO and Uppsala Monitoring Center, as well as the initiation of the VigiFlow pilot project in government hospitals. Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, DRAP, and PPA are committed to establishing a safe environment for patients in Pakistan
