Yasir Khan Niazi, Group CEO of GAK HealthCare International and its constituent institutions Dr. Akbar
Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC), was invited by
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Islamabad Founder Lions Club to participate in
a distinguished panel discussion on Diabetes Awareness, standing at the forefront of national healthcare
advocacy. His presence on the expert panel reflects the continued commitment of GAK HealthCare to
encouraging Pakistan’s public-health dialogue at the highest and most impactful levels.

The session brought together notable voices including Dr. Shagufta Feroz, Dr. Arif Masood (District
Governor, Lions Club International), Dr. Zubair Hasan (Administrator, Noon Foundation), Dr. Munira
Abbasi and Prof. Dr. Tahira Sadiq, who collectively highlighted an urgent national concern: Pakistan now
ranks among the highest in the world for adult diabetes prevalence, with nearly one in three adults
affected, a reality that necessitates immediate and coordinated action.
